Posted on mayling700Verified DofE Silver Assessed Expedition We were back on this site for our yearly visit. Lovely clean site, showers and toilets are clean and warm. Site is ideally located due access to the South Downs Way. See you next yearPosted on David MVerified Super campsite in a great position for the south downs & for rail travel to Brighton or London This was the second time I've been to this site in 2025. If I hadn't been suitably impressed the first time around, I wouldn't have gone back for another visit Very friendly helpful staff Very good clean & practical amenities Spacious pitches Very handy for walking the southdown way Only 10mins walk to the railway station with easy access to Brighton & London Don't miss out on the local Greyhound pub at Keymar, just a short walk away or the onsite coffee cart on specific days of the weekPosted on Susie LVerified Beautiful views! Lovely, well maintained site with beautiful views that supports a charity. As a couple we were put in a quieter field (but no views!) with families often grouped together in another field. It was a busy weekend but plenty of facilities and hot showers. The coffee van serving hot drinks (v reasonable prices) and pastries each day 8am-1pm was great. We did have an issue with the cleanliness of the showers and the noise of some inconsiderate guests, but I was so impressed with the way my complaint was handled, and understand this was not the 'norm' for the site which prides itself on having clean facilities and a peaceful environment, and both problems were immediately rectified (by the CEO herself scrubbing the showers!) who seems very sincere and conscientious. It would be a shame if any poor reviews regarding the state of the showers and noisy campers that might result from that weekend (1-3 Aug) put people off this campsite, please give it a chance!Posted on hazel hVerified Excellent Just returned from this beautiful site, staff are so kind and friendly nothing was too much. Peaceful, clean, fab facilities even a microwave and fridge freezer. 15 min walk to Hassocks for the train to Brighton which is 5/ 10 mins. A fabulous Indian restaurant in Hassocks where we got a takeaway and brought back to camp, the best Indian takeaway ive had. Thankyou for a lovely stayPosted on Alex JVerified Clean and friendly Very well organised. Clean showers. Quiet in the week. Busier in the weekends. But all of their customers were super respectful. And raising money for a worthwhile cause. Small walk to nice restaurants and shops. Nice view of a windmill from my van. Thanks to the team for a nice stay.Posted on VegieplotVerified Great no hassle camping Very good campsite no issues or hassle loads of space, well located- the main field is huge so plenty of space There were no noisy campers and plenty of dofe groups coming and going with no issues Facilities were clean and tidy and plenty of space + washing up facilities Only comment is that the main road is pretty noisyPosted on Donna PVerified Excellent, peaceful and clean and friendly We stayed in this lovely clean peaceful site. The manager was lovely and friendly, my daughter decided to come for 1 night and she managed to put her right next to us, very helpful. Would definitely stay there again.Posted on Jerry WVerified Super Site Lovely site within easy reach of Brighton via train. Clean facilities and a beutigul spot with views of the downs. Really enjoyed our stay at Southdown WayPosted on BelaB1984Verified Great site We really enjoyed our stay at Southdown Way and would definitely come back. The pitches were spacious, and the facilities were a little dated but clean and well-kept. We had a bit of trouble with our electric hook-up on the first night, but the lovely night warden—a Welsh lady whose name I sadly didn’t catch—went above and beyond to help us. She even checked in with us the next morning, which was so thoughtful. As it turned out, the issue was with our van, which is now in for repair! The only downsides were the dog exercise area not being fully enclosed—there's a large earth mound to one side, and our big dog was straight over it and into the touring field—and the dog charge. At £5 per dog per night, it felt quite steep compared to other sites where we've paid £1–£2. We always clean up after him, so we’re unsure what the extra cost covers. It would be great if this could be reviewed for the future. Overall, thank you Southdown Way for a lovely weekend!Posted on GailVerified Lovely, spacious and well maintained site. Lovely, spacious well maintained site. Pitches are a very good size with no restrictions on how you pitch up within the space. Staff are welcoming and informative about the local area and good dog walking places. Facilities are spotlessly clean. Brilliant views of the South Downs. There is a lovely coffee shack, snall shop, information hut and a children's play area as well as a dog exercise area. Lots of local walks through the countryside. The road next to the site is quite busy, but not too intrusive. Thoroughly recommended!
